I wish I were blissfully ignorant
I want to be an author when I am older. I have already started writing various bits and pieces.
Yet, my oh so rational brain tells me that this is no secure future.
I could be a lawyer and have a safe job, earn a decent wage, and be able to support myself (and hopefully a family). I would have to work hard at something I probably wont enjoy, but at least it should guarantee security.
Or I could throw it all away and just spend my whole life struggling.
It’s hard deciding what you want to dedicate your life too, especially when it’s something creative with no real stable income.
Acting, writing, being a musician, being a photographer etc.
We all want to follow our dreams. We do not all aspire for fame.
Yet most of us are going to suffer and struggle. The world just does not need that many creative types. I want to give something back to the world. I want to share my thoughts and feelings, just as many others have shared theirs with me.
So I either have a hard job, or a hard life. Not much choice is there?
